Indigenous Research

Indigenous people make up 476 million of the world’s population, spreading across 90 countries and representing 5,000 different cultures. However, evacuation from their traditional lands and discrimination in legal systems has led to them making up 15% of the world’s ‘extreme poor’. In addition to this, attempts to combat this marginalization have led to accusations of treason and terrorism.

In light of this, research into the plight of indigenous people is imperative to ending the marginalization and discrimination of these communities, and recognising their valuable contributions to society. Within this topical collection, you can explore pioneering research and blog posts dedicated to reducing these inequalities the world over.
