Nature Publishing Group announces Cell Death Discovery, a new open access journal

19 June 2015

Nature Publishing Group announced the launch of a new open access journal, Cell Death Discovery, on May 28th, together with
the Cell Death and Differentiation Association (ADMC) and the editorial team of Cell Death & Dif erentiation, and Cell Death &
Disease.

Cell Death Discovery provides a complementary and unified forum for scientists as well as clinicians within which to publish
their work, in conjunction with its sister journals, Cell Death & Dif erentiation and Cell Death & Disease.

Cell Death Discovery is an international open access journal dedicated to publication of research at the intersection of cell death and medicine, provided it is scientifically sound. The journal will offer a double-blind peer review option.

Professor Gerry Melino, Editor-in-Chief, MRC Toxicology Unit Leicester, UK, and University Rome Tor Vergata, Italy said: "We
hope that the research published in Cell Death Discovery will foster a dynamic and highly productive dialogue between scientists and clinicians, as well as researchers in the pharmaceutical and biotechnical industries, with a focus on cancer, neurobiology and inflammation research."

David Bull, Global Head of Academic Journals at Nature Publishing Group/Palgrave Macmillan said: "Cell Death Discovery will build upon the success of Cell Death & Dif erentiation and Cell Death & Disease in publishing important peer-reviewed original research, timely reviews and editorial commentary."

Cell Death & Dif erentiation is devoted to scientific excellence in the field of cell biology, molecular biology, and biochemistry of
cell death and disease. Cell Death & Disease focuses on the field of translational cell death and seeks to promote diverse and
integrated areas of Experimental and Internal Medicine.

The new journal's home page can be found here and is open for submissions now. Articles are published under a CC BY license
by default, with other licenses available upon request.

Cell Death Discovery will publish original papers, together with topical, usually solicited, reviews, editorial correspondence and
occasional commentaries on controversial and scientifically informative issues.
