Congratulations to the 2021 Nobel Prize winners

In celebration of this year’s winners their contributions to Springer Nature publications have been made available on a dedicated landing page from the publisher

London | New York | Heidelberg, 13 October 2021

This year’s Nobel Prize winners have collectively published over 150 journal articles and more than 50 book chapters with Springer Nature. To mark this, Springer Nature is making these publications, from Syukuro Manabe, Klaus Hasselmann and Giorgio Pairisi, winners of the Nobel Prize in Physics; Benjamin List and David Macmillan, winners of the Nobel Prize in Chemistry; and David Julius and Ardem Patapoutian, winners of the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine, free to read on a specially dedicated landing page until 12 December. The open access articles are available to access free of charge on a permanent basis.

The online collection includes publications such as ‘Interhemispheric asymmetry in climate response to a gradual increase of atmospheric CO2’ from physics Nobel laureate Syukuro Manabe; chemistry Nobel laureate Benjamin List’s ‘Radical catalysis’; and a journal article on the ‘Molecular basis of infrared detection by snakes’ by Physiology/Medicine laureate David Julius.

Commenting on this year’s winners, Steven Inchcoombe, Chief Publishing and Solutions Officer at Springer Nature said: “The Nobel Prize is another juncture in which we can look back on the incredible achievements and contributions of scientists, and also look forward to where their groundbreaking work may take us next. From how our bodies feel heat and pressure to the far-reaching impact of global warming, the work of this year’s Nobel laureates is an indicator of the undeniable impact science and scientific research has on our everyday lives, whether we are conscious of it or not.

“Springer Nature is committed to amplifying important research and is honoured to have world-leading scientists continuing to choose to publish their work with us. Communicating research such as this allows us to demonstrate the important role of science in better understanding the nature of our world, and its ability to provide answers to some of the biggest challenges we are facing.”

The publications can be accessed through the dedicated website here.
