Springer to collaborate with the Beijing Institute of Technology Press
New publishing collaboration includes books, journals and digital databases
Heidelberg | New York, 27 October 2015
Springer will collaborate with the Beijing Institute of Technology Press on the publication of books, journals and digital databases covering the Beijing Institute of Technology’s (BIT) strongest research disciplines. The first major project in the collaboration is the launch of the international book series Key Technology for New Energy Vehicles, which has secured the full support of the Beijing Institute of Technology. Springer is part of the publishing group Springer Nature.
Prof. Hu Haiyan, member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and President of the Beijing Institute of Technology, said, “BIT wholeheartedly supports the strategic cooperation. This is a win-win collaboration, important for resource sharing and the joint development of both parties. In 2015, the State Council published the ‘Made in China 2025’ strategy, which is becoming the first ten-year blueprint for implementing the strategy of developing China through manufacturing. The blueprint highlights energy saving and new energy automotives as the indispensable route to building a strong country for automotive manufacturing.”
Dr. Hubertus von Riedesel, Executive Vice President at Springer, added, “We all know that new energy vehicles in China have been developing rapidly, not only in terms of basic research but also in industrial applications. In light of this, we are following with interest the Chinese government’s launch of the ‘Energy Conservation and New Energy Vehicles’ strategy, which is both a wise decision and an exciting development in this field.”
The series Key Technology for New Energy Vehicles will publish two to three books annually, with the first volume appearing in mid-2016. The first book will be Modeling and Control of Hybrid Propulsion for Ground Vehicles. Comprising mainly monographs and edited works, the series will include such topics as control technology of driving systems, hybrid electric vehicle coupling technology, cross disciplinary design optimization technology, single and group battery technology, energy management technology and lightweight technology.
