Starting immediately, Springer Nature’s MyCopy service is also available to library users in Turkey. This service allows all registered library patrons there to order a softcover copy of a Springer eBook for their personal use through Springer’s online platform SpringerLink. MyCopy books can only be ordered by registered patrons of Turkish academic libraries that have purchased the corresponding eBook Collection and have agreed to this service.
The MyCopy service allows library patrons to purchase printed softcover books priced at a flat fee of 24.99 ($, € or £), which includes shipping and handling, making this an affordable option to students and researchers. The entire ordering and shipping process is handled by Springer Nature in cooperation with a print-on-demand (POD) provider. The MyCopy feature is available for the vast majority of English-language Springer eBooks including the Springer Book Archives, and the number of titles available is constantly growing.
Springer’s MyCopy service first piloted in North America in 2008. Springer Nature is working to expand the service to include more and more countries worldwide and it is now offered in 30 countries around the world, including Australia, New Zealand, Kuwait and the United Arab Emirates.
Asdaa Kotani, Vice President Sales, Eastern Europe, Middle East & Africa at Springer Nature, said, “I think MyCopy is the perfect addition to our eBook package offerings. Students and researchers value this service for its affordability and excellent print quality and I am excited that we have now rolled the service out in Turkey.”
“I am delighted Springer Nature has brought the MyCopy service to Turkey. We responded to the popular demand by Turkish libraries to provide this service to their patrons,” said Tolga Bakkaloglu, Licensing Manager Turkey Institutional Sales at Springer Nature. “MyCopy is a wonderful way to enable library users to purchase their own personal printed copies of eBooks from our eBook collections.”
