Heidelberg | London, 9 October 2018
Over 180 articles, book chapters and books by this year’s Nobel Prize winners have been published by Springer Nature. The breadth of publications, from seminal articles to comprehensive volumes in specialist book series, represents the prolific and diverse contribution the winners have made to their respective fields and the broader community. Publications span a timeframe from 1966 to 2018.
Many contributions from this year’s laureates show how research can lead to solutions to real-life problems. Examples include: a commentary article from 2011 in the BMC Journal of Translational Medicine on the critical hurdles in cancer immunotherapy; a research paper from 1992 on high affinity human antibodies published in Nature Biotechnology and an article from 2018 published in the Springer-branded journal Climatic Change on the evolution of modeling of the economics of global warming.
Steven Inchcoombe, Chief Publishing Officer at Springer Nature, said: “We feel privileged that the world’s most outstanding researchers continue to come to Springer Nature as a trusted partner for their publications. It is particularly exciting that so many of the topics rewarded with these prestigious prizes are directly related to making our planet a better place to live. From improving cancer treatment through immunotherapy to tackling sexual violence in areas of conflict, we are proud that by being powerful advocates for the communication of the highest quality science, we are able to advance discovery and support research that can change the world. Congratulations to all of this year’s winners!”
