Applications open for women in STEM to apply for Inspiring Women in Science Awards 2022
27 January 2022
Celebrating and supporting the achievement of women researchers and those supporting women and girls in STEM, the Inspiring Women in Science Awards from Nature Awards, part of Springer Nature, and The Estée Lauder Companies, seek to inspire girls and women* around the world to engage with STEM** subjects, challenge academic barriers and succeed in scientific careers.
The Inspiring Women in Science Award is made up of the following categories:
- Science Outreach presented to a project, organisation or programme that supports girls and young women to study, engage with and enjoy STEM subjects, or that increases the retention of women in science careers. Initiatives across academia, education, NGOs, and corporate entities can be considered for the award.
- Scientific Achievement given to early-career researchers who self-identify as women, and who have made an exceptional contribution to scientific discovery and the literature, sometimes despite challenges relating to resources, location or language skills.
Applicants are invited to nominate themselves or recommend others to apply. Each category winner receives a monetary prize of US$50,000 to spend on initiatives relating to their work, as well as mentoring through The Estée Lauder Companies and other publicity opportunities.
